The story takes place in Harrowfen, a quiet town surrounded by an endless forest preparing for its yearly tradition honouring the beacon's guiding light.

Four teens, including our protagonist Veyra, are tasked with helping prepare for the festival. But as the celebration approaches, a creeping darkness thirsty for power and blood known as The Grieving begins to stir, threatening to extinguish the beacon.
